How to Resolve Quicken error CC- 891?

Step 1: Ensure that the Quicken Service is up to date

  • Start Quicken
  • Click on help and select check for the update from the drop-down menu
  • When updated, click Yes to install it and if Quicken already works with the latest version, go to step 2

Step 2: Refresh your account details

  • In the account bar, click the account with the error code.
  • Click Update Now (Ctrl + Alt + U) on the gear icon in the top right
  • Enter your bank password on the next screen, then click on update now
  • If the account is updated, repeat the process with other accounts with the error code.

If the error persists, proceed to step 3

Step 3: Disable accounts with an error code

  • Under Tools, click Account Lists (Ctrl + A)
  • Click edit accounts with this error
  • Go to Online Services
  • Click on Deactivate and click Yes to confirm account deactivation.
  • Finally, click OK and then click Done to apply the changes.
  • Repeat the process of deactivating other accounts displaying the Quicken Error Code CC-891

Before the account reactivation process, we need to take these additional steps to ensure that the Quicken Files are correct. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Go to File and click File Operations, then click Validate and Repair
  • Check the valid file box then click ok
  • It starts the verification process, the duration of which depends on the file size
  • At the end of the verification process, the file status will be displayed on the data log notepad

Step 4: Re-activate the account

  • Go to Tools and click on the list of accounts (Ctrl + A)
  • Click edit on accounts with error code
  • After selecting online services, click on Setup Now
  • Enter your credentials, username, and password
  • Check the box Save this password (You may need to provide a vault password or Quicken ID and password)
  • Click connect
  • Instead of adding an account, instead of adding a link
  • Click next and then finish
  • Repeat the same process for other disabled accounts.
